research assistant

Hadeel is a graduate student and currently doing her masters at Qatar University in biomedical sciences.
She joined Dr. Gheyath’s lab in January 2020 and worked on various projects including toxicity
evaluation studies using zebrafish model, seroprevalence studies, validation of various serological assay
for anti- SARS-CoV-2 antibodies detection, and others. Dr. Gheyath’s is currently supervising her thesis
project titled “identification and characterization of SARS-CoV-2 antibody dependent cellular
cytotoxicity (ADCC) response in COVID-19 patients”. She has published three papers with Dr. Gheyath
and currently working on two more manuscripts..

Projects:

Organ-specific toxicity evaluation of stearamidopropyl dimethylamine (SAPDMA) surfactant
using zebrafish embryos.

Toxicity evaluation of different types of chemical compounds on zebrafish embryo model and
testing their antibacterial characteristics.

Seroprevalence of HHV-6 and HHV-8 among healthy blood donors in Qatar.

A population based epidemiological study for SARS-CoV-2 prevalence in Qatar (in collaboration
with the PHCC).

Validation of selected commercial serological assays for the detection of anti-SARS-CoV-2
antibodies.

Identification and characterization of SARS-CoV-2 antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity
(ADCC) response in COVID-19 patients.
