The startup is led by Prof. Gheyath K. Nasrallah, an esteemed expert in microbiology and serology and a professor at Qatar University; Dr. Hadi Yassine, a renowned virologist specializing in emerging infectious diseases; and Ms. Nadin Younes, a PhD candidate in Biomedical Sciences at Qatar University, specializing in the development of diagnostic assays. NorTest, our flagship product for Norovirus detection, addresses the critical need for faster, more reliable diagnostic tests to manage foodborne outbreaks and public health challenges. Incorporating cutting-edge advancements in fluorescent detection, NorTest achieves unmatched sensitivity and specificity, with clinical validation demonstrating 96.2% sensitivity and 100% specificity. Unlike conventional rapid tests, our technology bridges the gap between speed and accuracy, empowering healthcare providers with real-time, actionable results. The test platform is portable, user-friendly, and cost-effective, making it accessible to diverse settings, from clinics to resource-limited areas.

Our technology can first be adapted to detect other pathogens, broadening its application across various infectious diseases. Additionally, it can be tailored for food and environmental testing, such as detecting pathogens in treated wastewater and food products. This versatility aligns with global health priorities and sustainability goals, enabling us to expand our portfolio to address a wide range of diagnostic needs.
